Thursday, October 25 is sparring night. Please make sure you clip your fingernails and toenails and come with a clean uniform.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to everyone who tested! Test videos and photos from Awards Night will be available online soon.
Also a big thank you to those of you who supported the club demos!
The annual club picnic will be Saturday August 11 at Las Palmas Park in Sunnyvale. Our Chief Instructor will be preparing the meat! Everyone else should chip in sides, salads, desserts, etc.Also a big thank you to those of you who supported the club demos!

Beginners class starts July 9. Invite your colleagues! Start recruiting your friends and co-workers to join the club. We need at least six people to participate to have a beginner's class. If you refer someone and they stay the whole session, your club dues are waived for the following session. December 2011 test videos are available on YouTube. These videos are "unlisted" meaning they cannot be discovered through search.
Beginners: 2011-12 TKD White Belts
Intermediates: 2011-12 TKD Intermediates Group 1; 2011-12 TKD Intermediates Group 2; 2011-12 TKD Intermediates Group 3
Sparring: 2011-12 TKD Sparring
Test Dates
Testing will be:
- Beginners - June 7, 5pm
- Intermediates - June 7, 6pm (usually until around 8pm)
- Advanced - June 11, 6pm
Class is CANCELED on June 11 due to Advanced black belt testing.
Awards Ceremony June 14
The awards ceremony will be on June 14 at 6pm followed by dinner at 7pm at Crazy Buffet (830 E El Camino Real Sunnyvale).
Note that this is NOT Sunny Buffet as it has closed. Here are directions: http://mapq.st/JrYQIM. Take Mathilda going south from LM, make a left turn on El Camino Real, and Crazy Buffet will be 1.4 miles down the road on your right.
Guests are welcome ($10).

May Club News
Congratulations!
Congratulations to Joe Frakes who was promoted to Certified Instructor
May 3rd by the Board of Directors. In order to reach this
certification, Joe had to meet the qualifications set forth by the Board
of Directors documented in the Mandate HMKA-M8 entitled “Instructor
Certification”. This includes completing the specialized training
requirements documented in the Chief Instructor’s Directive HMKTKD-D2 ,
“Specialized Training For Certified & Senior Instructor Status”.
This is a huge accomplishment and Joe joins Aaron Weiner and Todd Lilly
as the other two active certified instructors in the Sunnyvale Club.

Employee Connection Fun Walk
There will be an Employee Connection One
Mile Fun Walk, Vendor Fair, and Raffle Drawing on Thursday, May 17 from
11 AM – 1 PM. Our club will have a table / booth in an effort to
recruit new members. We are
looking for volunteers to represent our club during this day / time.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could take 30 minutes or more out
of your busy day to support the club. If you can support, please
respond to
me (joe.frakes@lmco.com) with your selected time slot.
