Professor Mark Harrell's Annual HAMA Gathering on JULY 16 - Saturday

Jeff Burgess would like to invite Black Belts to join him in a Gathering hosted by: Dr. Fred Egelston in Almaden Valley. Other Belts are invited to observe. Here are the details:
COST: $20 per participant for entire day of activities and potluck.

ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE DONATED TO THE SANTA CLARA HUMANE SOCIETY IN THE LOVING MEMORY OF MISHA HARRELL.
This year we will be focusing on workshops as well as a little contact weapons freestyle sparring and our great potluck BBQ.
We are planning for a full day of activities so please plan to make a day of our Annual Gathering. Each workshop will be between 30 to 60 minutes in duration.
Currently we are planning the following workshops: (subject to change):

Kali-Panantukan - learn some dirty street kickboxing techniques while hitting the pads and shields. A great workout as well as effective techniques for the street. Professor Mark Harrell 

Kenpo Karate - simple and effective solutions to common self-defense situations. Professor Mark Harrell 

Han Moo Kwan - learn self-defense and practical principles and philosophy. Instructor Jeff Burgess 

Praying Mantis Gung Fu - Introduction to both Northern and Southern styles. These rare and exotic Chinese martial arts have many exciting and effective techniques. Learn some of the skills, drills and applications that make Praying Mantis Gung Fu such a beautiful and deadly martial arts. Professor's Mario Magdangal and Mark Harrell 

Kali-Eskrima (basics for weapons sparring competition) - Brief overview of some of the basic skills, targeting and rules for our weapons freestyle sparring competition. Professor Mark Harrell 

Full-Contact Weapons competition 

After the workshops and weapons competition we have a BBQ potluck.

Please RSVP to Professor Mark Harrell if you are planning to come and please him know what you are planning to bring to the potluck.
Once you RSVP you will receive the directions to the Gathering.

June Club News

Testing and Upcoming Important Dates

Intermediates test will be Monday, June 20th starting at 6 PM.
Advanced test will be Thursday, June 23rd starting at 6 PM.

Kelly is expecting everyone that is eligible to test on their appropriate night. Please let her know if you are not available (vacation, travel) or do not meet the requirements to test (if unsure, ask). Requirements are in Policy HMKTKD-P6 Testing and Promotion on the website: http://www.hanmookwan-svl.org/club_policies.htm

For both nights (20th and 23rd), there will not be a regular Intermediates classes or Advanced classes that night.
