Congratulations!

Congratulations to Joe Frakes who was promoted to Certified Instructor May 3rd by the Board of Directors.  In order to reach this certification, Joe had to meet the qualifications set forth by the Board of Directors documented in the Mandate HMKA-M8 entitled “Instructor Certification”.   This includes completing the specialized training requirements documented in the Chief Instructor’s Directive HMKTKD-D2 , “Specialized Training For Certified & Senior Instructor Status”.  This is a huge accomplishment and Joe joins Aaron Weiner and Todd Lilly as the other two active certified instructors in the Sunnyvale Club.  For all certified instructors, see the Associate website: http://www.hanmookwan.org/certified_instructors.htm.  Stay tuned for a future update to the Club’s website that will include Joe’s biography.

Employee Connection Fun Walk

There will be an Employee Connection One Mile Fun Walk, Vendor Fair, and Raffle Drawing on Thursday, May 17 from 11 AM – 1 PM.  Our club will have a table / booth in an effort to recruit new members.  We are looking for volunteers to represent our club during this day / time.  It would be greatly appreciated if you could take 30 minutes or more out of your busy day to support the club.  If you can support, please respond to me (joe.frakes@lmco.com) with your selected time slot.

Test Dates

Testing will be:

• Beginners - June 7, 5pm
• Intermediates - June 7, 6pm (usually until around 8pm)
• Advanced - June 11, 6pm

The awards ceremony will be on June 14 at 6pm followed by dinner at 7pm.

Next Sparring Night

Sparring night is Thursday, May 31. Bring your gear and clip your nails!

Saturday Session
The next Saturday session will be THIS Saturday April 14. Come and get a little extra workout in!

Test Dates
Testing will be:

• Beginners - June 7, 5pm
• Intermediates - June 7, 6pm (usually until around 8pm)
• Advanced - June 11, 6pm

The awards ceremony will be on June 14 at 6pm followed by dinner at 7pm.

Upcoming Dates

January 5 - Classes starts again
January 7 - Saturday session. Come around 9:30am.

January 16 - Start of new Beginners Class. Please post up flyers and tell your friends and co-workers. If you refer someone and they stay the full session, you can get your dues waived the following session! December Club News

Testing is tonight!
Beginner and intermediate testing is tonight! No regular class.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the Employee Connection will close at 5pm. We will have to change and warm up in B163. If you are not actively testing, please warm up in the "treadmill" room.

Upcoming Dates
Dec 8th Beginners/ Intermediates Testing
December 12- Advanced Testing
December 15th – Awards ceremony at 6pm; Dinner at 7:10pm at Sunny Buffet. All club members (who paid their dues) are invited to the awards night. Feel free to bring guests (cost of dinner not included for them).

Test Videos
I uploaded videos from the last test (June 2011) onto something called Dropbox. I invited the majority of you active members. If you would like access to them and haven't already received access, please send me an e-mail and I will invite you.

Also, I will be posting these on YouTube as private videos accessible only to those who have the link (no one will be able to find your vide). If you object to having your video posted, please let me know.
